Sustainable science and engineering for the global community

Check out the Forefront Mazagine article about FS!

The College of Engineering alumni magazine, Forefront, wrote an article, Lessons in the Amazon, about our science education pilot program in Peru! We made the cover, too.

Letter from the Field: Igniting scientific curiosity in the Amazon

We wrote an article for the Berkeley Science Review that describes our pilot trip to test out the underlying principles of Future Scientist at an orphanage in Peru. Click on the image below for the pdf version. We hope that you enjoy it.

Future Scientist in the Press

The UC Berkeley College of Engineering has written an article about our pilot trip to Peru in August 2009. Check it out!

Community Resources for Science, a nonprofit in Berkeley that places grad students in elementary schools in the area, highlighted Gautham's and Richard's work with CRS and with Future Scientist in their Newsletter.

A slideshow from our trip is also available on that page or see the slideshow here.

Medical Boat Trip on the Orosa River

Frances and Brigitte spent 10 days traveling with a group of medical students and doctors on the Ninita, one of the Project Amazonas boats. They went up the Orosa River as part of an intensive needs assessment to find out what Future Scientist can do to help the jungle communities and how best to go about it. Here are some of their adventures in photos. To read more about their experiences and find out about what they plan to do next, visit their Biodigester Project Blog.
